How do I create lead tracking code for a form?
Click the tab called "Add / Edit". Here you can add or edit a tracking code.
1) Select form you want to track 2) A tracking code is auto-generated and can be seen in the tracking code field. 3) Name the Marketing Channel, in this example it would be Google. 4) Click the Select SEF Url. A window opens and you can choose the ARTICLE you want to track. *Reguires the use of sh404. 5) Select a marketing channel, or create a new one. For example: Google PPC. 6) Enter the cost of the marketing campaign. *If you don't know the final cost yet, just estimate a cost or put 0. 7) In the upper right, click APPLY so save the changes to the database. 8) Under the marketing channel field, click the C to "Create Tracking SEF". In the text box below, a tracking SEF URL will be created. It will look something like this: http://yourdomain.com/mycontent.html?serrbizflt=DCNS. 8) Copy the tracking code and use it in your 3rd party marketing. *Note, if you were to click the final TRACKING URL SEF above it automatically performs a 301 redirect to a NON tracking url. This prevents the search engines from indexing the tracking sef. This prevents duplicate content penalities in the search engines. *When a visitor arrives via a tracking url, a cookie is set. If the visitor clicks away, then returns and completes the form, this cookie is used to record the orinial source of the lead.
